Any skater wishing to skate during SCFSC Freestyle Ice must meet the following guidelines:
Have a current US Figure Skating Membership (this is an annual membership)
Have a current Club, College or Associate Membership with SCFSC (this is an annual membership)
Registered and Paid for X-Skate High, Medium or Low ice or LTS Plus ice or buy on ice at time of skating.
Skater account must be current if you wish to skate.
Buy On Ice is available through SCFSC, contact the Financial Administrator for more information.
If the skater does not meet these requirements and wishes to continue skating with SCFSC, please take action to fulfill the necessary requirements. The board will be reviewing all skaters and those who are not fulfilling their requirements will be asked to leave the ice until they fulfill the necessary requirements.
Below are the guidelines as to the amount of skating a skater can skate based on what they register for. As a reminder each skater must sign in for each session they are on the ice.
Skaters who purchase x-skate high can skate any day and any session they choose.
Skaters who purchase x-skate medium can skate 5 sessions per week.
Skaters who purchase x-skate low can skate 3 sessions per week.
Skaters who purchase LTS plus can skate one session per week in addition to the LTS classes.
Skaters who buy on can skate for the session they have purchased – payment must be received at time of buy on.
To assure we are providing a safe environment for our skaters, we limit the number of skaters that can be on the ice during a FS session to 20. Thus, if we have a session where we have 20 plus skaters wishing to skate, we need to remove skaters from the ice. This is the process and guidelines that are followed by our Ice Monitors.
The ice monitor will count the skaters and if we have over 20, skaters are asked to come off the ice based on what level of ice they are registered for and are asked to sit out following this order.
1. Buy-on skaters 2. LTS plus skaters 3. X-skate low skaters 4. X-skate medium skaters 5. X-skate high skaters
We need to have more people volunteering for the Ice Box duties. It is easy to do and counts towards your volunteer hours.
Duties: bring the sign in binder and music player to the ice box from the locker room, have skaters sign in with their initials before they get on the ice, take care of collecting any buy on money and putting this money into the payment box in the figure skating locker room, play skaters music when needed, watch for the safety of the skaters, put the binder and music player back in the locker room at the end of the session.
We must have these sessions covered.
If you know you can cover certain days please contact our Ice Coordinator, Kim Vaverek at 320.248.6692. If you are parent watching from the bleachers and see no Ice Monitor is present, please volunteer to help. We need our parents to help cover the Ice Monitor duties. Please take the time to volunteer in the ice box - the skaters need us!
